Blue Chips Ain't What They Used To BE.....

KEEPING BREVARD BEACHES CLEAN
Churning Ocean at Indian Harbour Beach
FOR LOVE OF PEOPLE AND ANIMALS

Lots of wind and rough surf means lots of plastic and other junk being pushed to shore for the cleanup crew.
Blue chips, red chips, grey chips
white chips,
all over the beach

I was recently reminded by a someone-I hope he doesn't mind my sharing his story here- that it's great to get all the big trash off the beach but you can't forget about these little chips of plastic-in any color- because they are deadly to sea life.  He was cleaning the beach and came upon a dead sea turtle.  There was blood coming out of its mouth.  The beach patrol approached and said the turtles eat the chips of plastic and it kills them.  It's  sad.  I've said this before....there shouldn't be anything out there they can't eat. Please help if you can.
Getting a handle on litter
in IHB

Litter, what a croc....
Don't share your needles!
Especially with the beach

(un)happy meal for
the jellyfish eaters

Leave only footprints...
not the shoes that make them.
We found about 7 today.

Thanks for stopping by.  There is so much litter on the beach and in the ocean.  The more people who become involved the better it will be for all of us and the animals as well.  Please help when you can.

Okay, that's the end of my speech, now please go hug a beach!

  1. So glad to have discovered you. Love the blog. Hate the debris! I fight it weekly up here in a quiet corner of southern Maine. (http://www.theflotsamdiaries.org) No matter how often I go, there's always more washed in with the next tide. But the more folks there are finding it, showing it, spreading the word, the better a chance we can figure out how to stop it. Keep up the awesome work!
